Sun Valley People Directory Map

Sun Valley people directories are spread across the agency that creates each entry. Sun Valley is a census-designated place rather than an incorporated city, so no municipal staff list exists. Washoe County rosters fill the government role. The school district and University of Nevada, Reno supply education contacts. Property systems work as owner and transaction directories, while state boards keep occupational credentials. Libraries extend the trail into past decades.

Start with the relationship being tested. A school role belongs in the school roster, while an address fits the Assessor roll. An old surname may need a city directory, newspaper, or cemetery index. Entries link a name to an institution, parcel, filing, or publication date. They do not prove a present home address.

Sun Valley School Staff Directory

The Sun Valley Elementary staff directory is the strongest local current roster. It is open without a login and displays staff under an “All” filter. No text search, export, date history, or direct email is stated. Roles include teachers, administrators, counselors, social workers, aides, custodians, and technology and facilities staff.

The captured roster is best for confirming a current school role, not for tracing an earlier career. A sample public entry is Ashley Mattick, Principal. The school contact point is 5490 Leon Drive, Sun Valley, and 775-674-4420. Name and role are the person fields; the address and phone belong to the campus.

Note: Bennett Elementary is another Sun Valley school, but individual names should not be cited until its separate staff page is inspected.

UNR Directory Fields for Sun Valley

Regional academic directories can add details that the school roster does not publish. The UNR Libraries directory provides browse entries for faculty and staff, with fields that vary by person. It can identify both a named staff member and the specialist who handles a topic, archive, or program. That makes it useful when a Sun Valley inquiry needs a public university contact rather than a resident listing.

The screen capture reflects a richer institutional directory than the local school page. Work phone, email, unit, and office or mail stop may appear, but those fields describe campus contact points.

Actual entries show the variation. Katherine Dirk is listed as Digitization Lab Manager in Digital Services, with phone, email, and location 2613. Elspeth Olson is listed as Assistant Professor and Outreach and Public Services Archivist in Special Collections and University Archives, also with phone, email, and location. Those sample entries show how the directory links a person to expertise and an organizational unit.

Sun Valley County Staff Directories

There is no Sun Valley city hall, city clerk, municipal court, or city employee directory. Washoe County is the local government directory layer. Its rosters are spread across departments, not gathered in one verified search. Recorder, Clerk, Assessor, Registrar, Community Services, Parks, Treasurer, and Medical Examiner pages may give staff names, titles, phones, emails, or office contacts.

A typical county staff entry may include the following public work details:

• official or staff name;
• public title, office, or service region;
• department or program name;
• direct work phone or main office number;
• work email and public office location.

If a name is absent, call Washoe County 311 at 775-328-2003 and ask for the department that keeps the relevant service or record. The official Nevada Employee Directory is a separate state resource. It applies to Nevada agencies, not county or school staff, and its server returned an error during research. The responsible approach is to retry the official directory or use the agency’s main contact, not substitute an unofficial index.

Sun Valley Property Name Directories

Washoe County’s Assessor roll is an ownership directory searchable by owner, street address, or assessor’s parcel number, called an APN. A parcel result can show the situs, or physical location, mailing address, legal description, ownership share, assessment details, and transfers. Mailing and situs addresses may differ. The first is a correspondence address, not proof of residence.

The Recorder index lists parties to transactions. It expects “LAST NAME FIRST NAME” without a comma and an approximate date. It cannot search by street address, APN, or legal description. Use the Assessor’s owner and parcel facts to reach grantor and grantee records. A grantor transfers an interest; a grantee receives it.

Computer indexing before November 19, 1991 is incomplete even though Washoe land records extend to county creation and some earlier material. An empty online result is not proof that no deed exists. Search a later parcel card or deed for names and legal references, then consult older books, images, Recorder staff, or the library. Access-law and copy procedures belong with Sun Valley public records.

Regulated Voter Directories in Sun Valley

Nevada separates personal voter lookup from voter-list access. The Secretary of State lookup is an authenticated tool for checking one’s own registration, not a browseable public people directory. Public voter lists are separately governed by NRS 293.440, 293.557, and 293.558. Their date and redactions matter because registration files change, and a listed registration address should not be treated as unrestricted contact data.

Social Security numbers, driver-license or state-ID numbers, election email addresses, registration-source data, protected addresses, and properly withheld address or phone fields do not become open directory fields. Nevada’s Confidential Address Program adds a distinct protection route for qualifying participants. These controls are part of the directory’s meaning, not an obstacle to be stripped away.

Sun Valley Professional Directory Indexes

Professional people directories in Nevada are split among regulators. The Secretary of State entity search links names to companies through agents, officers, and managers. Search modes include Starts With, Contains, Exact Match, and All Words. Other keys include entity number, Nevada Business ID, registered-agent name, or mark. Results may show status, file date, jurisdiction, agent details, managers, actions, and name history. A business address does not prove residence.

Washoe County’s DBA index covers fictitious-firm filings from 1887 to the present and refreshes about every 30 minutes. It is county-only, so it does not replace the state entity index. The contractor directory can search by license number, company name, principal, or qualified individual. Nevada’s Real Estate Division uses name or license number, while insurance, financial, mortgage, escrow, medical, and DMV-regulated businesses have separate agency tools.

Check a credential page for status, expiration, and any orders. A directory entry reflects what the regulator publishes at that time, not an endorsement. The regional chamber reports more than 2,000 member organizations, but its public search was not verified, so do not assume that individual members are searchable.

Sun Valley Historical Directory Trail

Historical Sun Valley people directories are regional because the community has no city archive. Downtown Reno Library holds city directories, phone books, clipping files, and local newspaper microfilm. Published information gives neither exact directory years nor which volumes are reverse or criss-cross. Those volumes turn an old address into the occupant printed for that year. Call 775-327-8300 to check a run.

UNR Digital Special Collections carries Reno, Sparks, and surrounding-area city directories beginning in 1900, plus Artemisia yearbooks, the Nevada Sagebrush, photographs, and oral histories. A Reno-labeled volume can be relevant to Sun Valley, but its front matter must confirm geographic reach. Early volumes may predate later Sun Valley growth.

The UNR Digital Special Collections directory cards show the mix of sources available for names that move beyond a modern staff list.

The captured collection page points toward city volumes, yearbooks, photographs, newspapers, and oral histories. Each source represents its own date and scope, so cite the volume, year, page, or image group rather than only the collection landing page.

1. Normalize the address for the target year, including old street names and postal-city variants.
2. Ask WCLS which alphabetical, telephone, or reverse volumes cover that year.
3. Inspect the UNR city-directory collection beginning in 1900 and read each volume’s front matter.
4. Search the matching newspaper run for the street and surname variants when a directory is silent.
5. Cross-check the result with census, property, deed, church, mortuary, or cemetery records.

Parkin Indexes Extend Sun Valley Directories

Nona Parkin’s 1997 “Washoe County records” compilation is a 14-volume, three-film directory across separate sources. It includes births from 1878 through 1910, death entries from 1896 through 1912, notices through 1915, obituaries through 1983, mortuary records from 1891 through 1939, marriages from 1869 through 1920, pioneer families before 1864, and church registers.

The volumes distinguish Hebrew, Catholic, veterans, Native American, Chinese, Masonic, IOOF, fraternal, and community cemetery sections. That breadth can recover a surname absent from a formal city directory. The relevant FamilySearch film and digital group pairs are 1598451/8261204, 1598452/8261205, and 1598453/7857388. Access icons and contract terms may require a login or FamilySearch center.

When Sun Valley Directories End

Not every directory is online or complete. WCLS does not publish exact years for its city and phone books. The Nevada Employee Directory failed during research. FamilySearch images can require a login or affiliate library. The Nevada Historical Society research library is closed from January 2025 through December 2026, with limited email retrieval. These gaps do not justify guessed entries.

Use a verified fallback. Downtown Reno Library can check directories, phone books, microfilm, and clippings. UNR supplies digitized city directories from 1900 and specialist contacts. During the closure, Nevada Historical Society staff can be reached at spatton@nevadaculture.org or 775-688-1190 extension 227. County staff can distinguish an index miss from an older book-only record.

Names change shape across directory eras. Try compound surnames, reversed maternal and paternal order, hyphen and space variants, and forms without accents. Address changes can reach 911, school, voter, assessor, utility, and postal systems at different speeds, so old and new forms may coexist. Confirm a close match with a second dated source.
